Beach Games
The Activity: The group is divided into teams of 8-10 members for this fast paced, fun event. The teams will rotate through a series of games and challenges with the goal of being the “Big Dog” on the beach.
The Challenge: The games included are:
GILLIGANS ISLAND WATER WORKS: The challenge is to move as much water as possible from the water source using a bucket, rope and transfer device. The bucket is attached to the rope and is moved by the team by pulling on the rope. Once it gets to the opposite end of the course they pour the water into a container. If the teams pull to hard they spill the water. If they don’t go fast enough they lose precious time. The team with the most water at the end of time wins.
BEACH CROSSING: Using boards, teams have 2 minutes to design a way to cross a swamp and transfer all players to the other side.
GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE COCONUT TRANSFER: The goal of this game is to transfer five coconuts, one at a time from the barrel into a shipping box in the shortest amount of time. The transfer device is a 2’ x 2’ platform mounted on an 8’ pole. Two team members at a time will hold the transfer device and move a coconut over some strings and under a pole on their way to the capture box. If the coconut falls off the team starts over.
TRICYCLE RACE: Teams ride giant tricycles through a slalom course with the hopes of being the fastest cars on the course.
FRISBEE FLIP: The goal of this fun challenge is to catch as many Frisbees in a net as possible in 90 seconds. The catcher must have quick reflexes and the tossers must be very accurate to maximize their points. Points are awarded based how many Frisbees are caught in the net.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL: This unique game has four teams playing volleyball at the same time. You need to be on your toes because there is no telling when the ball will come into your court. With four connected courts and two volleyballs the game is constant action.
